Meet our 2026 Scholarship Recipients
The three young riders below each completed 8 weeks of riding lessons with us here at Lone Star Farm, working toward individual goals outlined in the applications they submitted to be considered for this scholarship opportunity. They embraced every challenge, showed up with heart, and demonstrated the kind of horsemanship we’re proud to stand behind. Each of them brought something special to the program, and their reflections below offer a glimpse into the lessons, growth, and joy they experienced along the way.

Audi & Karma
"The past eight weeks have helped me and my horse have a feeling I’ve never felt before. Tanya explained everything, and always put the horse first . I had some of the best lessons I have ever had with Tanya , and every lesson I would always learn something new to work on. In just a couple weeks my horse went from not being able to relax on a loose rein , to being able to trot around the whole arena on a loose rein. I wouldn’t have know how to get my horse in the frame she is in now without doing lessons with Tanya . Thank you Lone Star Farm for this amazing opportunity !"
Lauren & Jake
"These past 8 weeks, taking lessons with Tanya, on Jake, have taught me so many things I never even knew! Tanya really helped me understand the horse underneath me, not just riding techniques and tips, but a bond. That taking things slow and and building the right foundation, is better than fast and wrong. Like doing groundwork, to build the horse, and get them ready for what's next. I also learned a lot about how horses move and react when they may be hurt or in pain, that may not be very visible, and taking things slow and cautious to make sure they get better. Overall it was a great experience for me to meet Jake and to learn, and build each other in the best way possible!
Thank you so much Tanya!"
