Meet our 2025 Scholarship Recipients
The three young riders below each completed 8 weeks of riding lessons with us here at Lone Star Farm, working toward individual goals outlined in the applications they submitted to be considered for this scholarship opportunity. They all embraced every challenge, showed up with heart, and demonstrated the kind of horsemanship we’re proud to stand behind. Each of them brought something special to the program, and their reflections below offer a glimpse into the lessons, growth, and joy they experienced along the way.

Jada & Daisy
Receiving this scholarship changed so much for both me and my horse. During my time with this scholarship I learned way more than I thought I could. This helped both me and my horse tremendously Tanya put in the time to make us both great together and separately. I would have never known how to help my horse use the right muscles and get her to use her body right without Lone Star. Not only did Tanya help my horse, she helped me strengthen my balance to help my horse do what she needs to do. A big thank you to Lone Star Farm for blessing me with this amazing opportunity!
Stella & Bayeux
The last eight weeks have been some the most informative, guiding, fun weeks I’ve ever had. Going from starting on a new horse to winning two first places (at a show) in just a couple months is mind blowing to me. I’m forever grateful that I was given this amazing opportunity to get to work with Tanya and move up in the horse world. From working on myself to helping out Bayeux, it all formed together. Consistency with going weekly and continuing to learn something new each time was amazing in itself but getting the guidance for everything I was struggling with was what made it the most enjoyable. Being blessed with this scholarship has made me level up in my riding and I’m continuing to look forward to leasing and working my way up even more. Thank you Lone Star Farm for this incredible experience!

Laura & Charm
The ability to work with Tanya this summer was phenomenal. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to build confidence and a strong riding foundation. When starting the riding scholarship with Tanya, I had the goal of conditioning and building back stamina before going back to collage to ride competitively after time off riding due an injury. Tanya focused on using biomechanics to develop a strong body position and had many tips that helped to improve my position while using correct muscle groups. I typically arch my lower back to push my shoulders back and compensate for the lack of strength in my core, so thinking about bring my “armpits together” allowed me to bring my shoulders back without arching my lower back and “pushing my knees to the ground” helped to solidify a supportive lower leg. The opportunity to use various training tools like the posture bands brought awareness to imbalances in my riding position. The bands helped to bring awareness to me collapsing my left ribcage and helped me to get the feel of stretching tall to open up my left rib cage and reduce the tipping in my upper body. Having access to these bands was a fantastic experience and one that will stick with me. Tanya’s feedback was instrumental to bringing back strength in my position and building a solid foundation to take with me on all the horses I ride. I am so appreciative of Tanya’s time, expertise, and generosity. I look forward to a great riding season ahead because of this scholarship experience."
